D&AD Awards London

Exhibition Design. Creative Production

The exhibitions presents the works of students, grads, and aspiring creatives between 18 and 24 in the Awards section and real brief responses from New Blood Shift - a free intensive night school programme run by D&AD in London and New York for untrained talent - creatives with no formal arts education.

For this years New Blood showcase design we wanted to emphasise the concept of transitioning and layers as a response to the participants career stage. As part of the brief we were challenged to work with a series of preexisting structures. To minimise production costs and create a more circular design, we created a modular, reusable display system. Stacked storage boxes were dotted around the space as display plinths. Light holographic vinyl was used to draw attention to the digital elements. The dark holographic vinyl was used as a background to the New Blood Shift section - to emphasise the connection between the two spaces.

Project designed in collaboration with graphic design studio Praline, production by Rule One and exhibition photography by Sara Esteves. The exhibition took place at Truman Brewery as part of the D&AD Festival 2019. Showcase will be reinstalled during the D&AD Awards in July 2019.
